Martha Spalding-Kern
|
Martha Spalding-Kern, PT, BFA, NTP
Martha Spalding-Kern graduated from the
University of Illinois, Chicago with a BS in Physical Therapy in
1989. She also holds a BFA in dance from the Boston Conservatory.
Martha danced professionally for 5 years and went on to pursue a
career in health care. Her approach has always been holistically
motivated due to her background in dance.
She achieved clinical experience
beginning with hospital in-patient and skilled nursing. She then
switched to pediatrics working for Tim Healey. Martha finally ended
up in outpatient rehabilitation where her focus became becoming
skilled at manual therapy techniques. She has since actively pursued
education in Myofascial Release, Craniosacral Therapy, Visceral
Manipulation and extensively in Integrative Manual Therapy.
Martha has completed over 70 courses to learn the Integrative
Diagnostics and Integrative Systems Approach of IMT coupled with
nutritional therapy. Coursework has
included focus not only on the joint and muscles, but on the
cardiovascular system, the respiratory system, the liver, the
urogential system, the neurological system. Included are techniques
which address the mind, emotions, and other energetics of our
bodies. This complete, mind-body holistic approach allows for the
treatment of any diagnosis.

Mona Costanzo

Mona Costanzo, CPI, NTP
A former professional dancer with over
25 years of dance teaching experience, Mona Costanzo is an
award-winning Certified Pilates Instructor. Her extensive dance
training, coupled with her Pilates expertise, enable her to offer
patients a well-trained eye for form and alignment. She has the
ability to work with each of her clients based on their individual
level and personal needs.
In addition to her own extensive body conditioning knowledge, Ms
Costanzo has had the unique privilege of working with Mary Martin in
the Adapted Physical Education Department at Orange Coast College.
This experience was a wonderful opportunity to implement modified
Pilates techniques on a variety of students with a wide range of
disabilities and injuries.

Raina Tsuda

Raina Tsuda
Raina Tsuda is currently attending Pacific
College of Oriental Medicine in San Diego where she is pursuing a
M.S. degree in Traditional Oriental Medicine with aspirations of
becoming a licensed Acupuncturist and Herbologist. She is a Board
Certified Massage Therapist (pending) specializing in Tui Na massage
and is a fully certified STOTT Pilates™ instructor. Raina holds a
B.S. degree in Graphic Communication from Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo
as well as a M.B.A. from the University of Phoenix.
Raina danced with Anaheim Ballet for six
years, prior to which, she trained at summer programs affiliated
with Milwaukee Ballet and Bolshoi Ballet. She has extensive
first-hand experience combining Pilates and Integrative Manual
Therapy as rehab for acute and chronic injuries. |

Nysa Williams |
Nysa Williams
Nysa Williams earned her Masters of Science in
Physical Therapy from Marymount University in 1999. Her
undergraduate degree from the University of Oregon is in Health
Education with a focus on nutrition.
Nysa spent the next five years working in an
outpatient Physical Therapy clinic in Washington, D.C., where she
had an unusually diverse caseload and developed a reputation for
solving chronic issues with innovative techniques. She has studied
Integrative Manual Therapy since 1999 as well as completed classes
in other similar therapy techniques. Nysa strives to continue her
learning for faster and more efficient manual techniques.
After leaving Washington, Nysa moved to
Steamboat Springs, Colorado, where she worked in a hospital in a
wide variety of capacities. She worked as a Physical Therapist in
the outpatient satellite clinic, skilled nursing facility,
in-patient floor, emergency department, and with a Certified Hand
Therapist doing hand based therapy. In Colorado, Nysa treated many
ski injuries, gaining deep experience in the treatment of knee and
other joint injuries.
Nysa was a competitive rower during and after
college. She now enjoys sailing and kayaking, and playing with her
cat. She lives with her husband in San Clemente, California. |
