Mary Elizabeth Cox

Mary Elizabeth Cox, P.T.

Men and Women's Health Specialist since 1997.

I am a Manual Physical Therapist and I treat what I find! The treatment approach consists of an eclectic collection of soft tissue techniques and drawn from many years of continue education courses; techniques are gathered from 30 years of experience working with people, in the field of physical therapy. The body as a whole is evaluated and treated, with pelvic pain clients abdominopelvic area is the primary focus. All treatments are individually designed and rendered by Mary.

Women's Health Physical Therapist:

World Health Organization [WHO] 1997 defines Woman's Health as a state of complete physical, mental, and social well-being and not merely the absence of disease or infirmity.  The United States Department of Health and Human Services 1985, states that a disease or condition must meet 5 criteria to be considered a woman's health condition.  The disease must be unique, more prevalent, and more serious, have different risk factors, & requires interventions that are different for women or a subgroup. It is the position of the International Organization of Physical Therapists in Women's Health [IOPTWH] that the scope of practice will include both above criteria including evaluation, treatment and the education of women throughout the life stages. Since 1997, Mary Cox has dedicated her time/interest and continued education in the areas of Gynecology, Urology and Gastroenterology physical therapy.

Simply put---> to resolve pain sensitive tissues, to lengthen and restore tissue mobility, improve the overall function and mobility of the body’s organs, muscles, joints, glands, and support structures. Thus treatment is not only for the main complaint, but to restore proper structure, function, and mobility to the entire body.
